About us

Established in 1999, GRAMPET Group is the first multinational company with Romanian capital and has become the largest private freight rail transporter in South-eastern Europe. The companies in the group provide integrated solutions and services: transportation, logistics services, locomotive and wagon production, as well as other rolling stock components, modernization solutions for rolling stock, and leasing services.

    Grampet Group joins Trans Caspica. Launch of transport operations of Eurorail Logistics doo Serbia. Reva Simeria launches the production of tank wagons. Reloc launches the production of battery-powered and remote-controlled rail-road shunting machines and completes the prototype of the battery-powered locomotive. Train Hungary launches discussions for opening an office in Slovenia.

    Reloc SA Craiova launches the production of bearings used in the assembly of Diesel, Sulzer and Maybach engines, as well as ALCO engines.

  • 2014

    Electroputere VFU Craiova signs a strategic partnership with Caterpillar Inc. for the construction and development of new locomotives. A train of Grup Feroviar Român (GFR) was the first freight train to pass through the Galati - Giurgiulesti border point, three days after the opening of traffic on the European gauge in the south of the Republic of Moldova. As part of a partnership with the American industrial group Caterpillar, Reloc and Electroputere VFU Craiova launched the production of the TERRANOVA LDH 1260 HP locomotive - the first locomotive with two engines that provides traction on four axles in conditions where only one engine operates. Electroputere VFU Pašcani launches the production of a passenger train.

  • 2013

    Grampet Group is relaunching the design activity at Reloc SA Craiova, as well as the production lines. Reva Simeria is finalizing an investment program of around 10 million euros, carried out over the last 5 years, for technical equipment aligned at the European level, obtaining new certifications and authorizations.

  • 2012

    Establishment of Grampetcargo Austria. Grampet Group signs a collaboration agreement with the Cuban Railway Union, with particular interest in the construction and repair of locomotives and wagons for passenger and freight trains of the Cuban railways. Grampet Group takes over the locomotive production activity from Electroputere VFU Craiova, as well as the most important locomotive repair factory, Reloc SA Craiova.

  • 2010

    Grup Feroviar Român carries out the first transport from Romania to the Republic of Moldova, materializing the beginning of collaboration with the Moldovan Railways. Establishment of Eurorail Logistics Germany and Eurorail Company Republic of Moldova, freight forwarding operators.

  • 2009

    Privatization takeover of Debreceni Vagongyár, Hungary, manufacturer and repairer of rolling stock.

  • 2008

    Grup Feroviar Român starts international transports through the Northern border of the country, being the first private operator in Romania that has collaborative relations with the Ukrainian Railways. The Institute for Computing Technology becomes part of the Grampet Group.

  • 2007

    The establishment of the Rolling Stock Company, a joint venture formed by Grup Feroviar Român and the National Railway Freight Transport Company CFR Marfă.

  • 2006

    Grup Feroviar Român starts the international transport of goods.

  • 2005

    Establishment of Train Hungary, operations being started the following year.

  • 2004

    Establishment of the Bulgarian Railway Company. The establishment of Trans Expedition Feroviar, one of the largest owners and administrators of private railway infrastructure in Romania. The privatization acquisition of the rolling stock manufacturer Remar, rebranded in 2013 as Electroputere VFU Pașcani.

  • 2003

    Taking over through the privatization procedure of Transshipment Privatization Cargo.

  • 2002

    Grup Feroviar Român debuts on the rail transport market, performing services for Petrom (currently a member of the OMV group).

  • 2001

    SC Grup Feroviar Român SA begins activity as a shunting operator. Reva Simeria joins Grampet Group, following the privatization through public auction.

    Obtaining the transport license for SC Grup Feroviar Român SA
