History

  • 1999

    Grampet Group is founded.

  • 2000

    Grampet Group gains the transport license for GFR S.A.

  • 2001

    Grup Feroviar Român starts its activity as a shunting operator.
    Reva Simeria joins the Group, following privatization through public tender.

  • 2002

    Grup Feroviar Român enters the railway transport market providing services for Petrom (currently member of the OMV Group).

  • 2003

    The Group takes over Transhipment Privatization Freight following privatization.

  • 2004

    Bulgarian Railway Company is founded.
    TRANS EXPEDITION FEROVIAR, one of the largest owners and managers of private railway infrastructure in Romania, is founded.
    The Group takes over rolling stock producer Remar, following privatization. It will later be rebranded as Electroputere VFU Pașcani (2013).

  • 2005

    Train Hungary is founded, with operations to be launched one year later.

  • 2006

    Grup Feroviar Român launches its international freight transport services.

  • 2007

    Rolling Stock Company, a joint venture between Grup Feroviar Român and the National Rail Freight operator CFR Marfă, is founded.

  • 2008

    Grup Feroviar Român begins to perform international transport operations via the Northern frontier of the country. It is the first private operator in Romania to collaborate with the Ukrainian Railways.
    The Institute for Computers joins Grampet Group.

  • 2009

    Following privatization, the Group takes over Debreceni Vagongyár Hungary, with rolling stock repair and construction activities.

  • 2010

    Grup Feroviar Român performs the first transport from Romania to the Moldova Republic, thus marking the beginning of its collaboration with the Railway of Moldova.
    Eurorail Logistics Germany and Eurorail Company Republica Moldova, freight expedition operators, are founded.

  • 2012

    Grampetcargo Austria is founded.
    Grampet Group signs a partnership agreement with the Union of Cuban Railways, with a special interest in the construction and repair of locomotives and wagons for Cuban passengers and freight transport.
    Grampet Group takes over the locomotives production activities of Electroputere VFU Craiova, and the most important locomotives repairs plant, Reloc S. A. Craiova.

  • 2013

    GRAMPET Group launches the design unit and production lines at Reloc S.A. Craiova.
    Reva Simeria finalizes a 5-year EUR 10-million investment program for upgrading technical equipment to European standards, new certifications and authorizations.

  • 2014

    Electroputere VFU Craiova signs strategic partnership with American-based Caterpillar Inc., for the construction and development of new locomotives.
    Grup Feroviar Român becomes the first operator to cross over the border between Galaţi and Giurgiuleşti, three days after the standard European gauge railway traffic opened South of Moldova Republic.
    Caterpillar, Reloc and Electroputere VFU Craiova launch the production of TERRANOVA LDH 1260 CP, the first locomotive powered by two engines which provides four-axle traction under the operating conditions of a single engine.

  • 2016

    Reloc S.A. Craiova launches the production of bearings used in assembling Diesel, Sulzer and Maybach engines, as well as ALCO engines.

  • 2018

    Grampet Group joins the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
    Eurorail Logistics doo Serbia launches operations.
    Reva Simeria begins production of tank wagons.
    Reloc starts production of rail-road maneuvering equipment with batteries and remote control and completes the prototype of the locomotive with batteries.
    Train Hungary starts talks for the opening of an office in Slovenia.

  • 2019

    The Group becomes operational in Greece.
